Mac osx help!

Featured Replies

I've followed this http://howto.diveintomark.org/remote-mac/ some time ago so i can access my macmini via vnc and ssh.

Anyone know how to get rid of the ssh part? lost the key thingy.

You will need to uncheck the option in Vine Server to "Allow only local connections".

vine server? wheres that? linux/unix/osx i'm not the best with... give me an iSeries !

Did you follow the guide in the video? Cos there you would have installed (and enabled) ssh and Vine Server (the VNC server application). Have a look in your applications folder.

Ah yes, OSXVnc is now called Vine Server, so it may still be OSXVnc on your system

followed the video to the letter. yes, osxvnc rings a bell - plus is also have chicken of the vnc.

do i need to do anything on the command line?

No, you need to uncheck that option i mentioned above in osxvnc. Chicken of the vnc is the client and has nothing to do with it.

quiten, cannot seem to find that option. could u point me in the right direction? I think it was setup on the command line?

If it was on the command line, then I don't know. If you watch the video then it shows an option in the osxvnc application, so I presume you must have this application installed too. I've attached the window from Vine Server, but I know that osxvnc looks very similar (as it was its predecessor)

Link to the support forum for the company that makes OSXvnc/VineServer. They are very helpful:
