The dealer will also need the 14 digit security from the dash insert to get the four pin code along with proof of ownership and identification.

Also I have never seen a key programmed in the manner Tom described, doesnt mean its not possible its just i've never heard of it.

i didn't say you can program a key like this??..... this just overrides the immobilizer temporarily so you can drive the car...

oh yeah, i forgot to say, you do need to turn the ignition to the accessoy position

But what would be the point in having a security system you can just bypass?

in case you do what i did when i was like a squillion miles from home and snapped the metal part of the flcik key off from the fob:eek:

OK, so now i need to get the 14 digit security from the dash insert, chassis number, car registration ID, and then i'll get the code n do the procede above, anything else?

forgive me for stating the bleeding obvious...... why dont you just buy a new key from the dealer if you are going to go to all that trouble??

Because a new key from the dealer will take one month, and rght now i need to get the car working thats why!!

OKs, Got the code from the dealer today with a quick phone call :S

n then got everything sorted out, its running fine now, Thanks everyone for the help

glad it's all worked out ok...... iirc to get it to got back into normal mode you need to get a vag-commer (or the dealer) to clear it

I turned the r on and went straight to the dealer to clear it, thanx alot tom
