advice on yellow fabia

Featured Replies

Hey folks,

my first post on here, although i have used it for reference alot!

I need some advice about my yellow fabia 1.4 classic 8v, 2001 (y reg), 47k miles.

I've had her just ovr a year, and find it a brilliant drive. had some of the common problems: anti roll bar (replaced), rattling timing chain (replaced) and temperamental power steering problem, which hasnt been fixed because, as luck would have it, the power steering is fine while its at the garage

My dilema is that it doesnt have central locking or electric windows, and i would DIE for a car that does. As i sat browsing ebay today, there is a yellow fabia, a year newer with the "plus pack" from skoda garage near me! Which I would love to swap for mine (or add a bit to it).

However, does anyone know if i can get this "plus pack" fitted to my car now, or was it fitted in the factory? basically, would it be worth getting it fitted to my car, or just getting this fabia on ebay??

Also, if i keep mine, i was going to touch up the scratches left by previous owner, but dont know how easy this is? anyone does this on a yellow fabia? previous owner has touched up a couple and dont know if colour was wrong or what, but it looks a right state. dont wanna make it look worse.

any advice appreciated.

Tracey

Welcome to Briskoda. What area are you from?, there are always local bodywork repair van's that come to you and will fix most problems i.e. Chipsway.

I would say what you are asking for is 'easilyish' done, and would require new inside door rests along with some wiring underneath to the fuse box.

I could be completely wrong mind, but... It sounds simple enough.

Hiya,

I'm near Leeds and Bradford.

I am gonna ask my local garage how much they could do the job for, and see what i would lose to part ex mine towards the newer one with electric stuff.

Thansk for the advice!

Tracey
