front arb

Featured Replies

Hi

Ive been looking to change the front bushes on my 02 octavia vrs for powerflex ive bought new wishbones and have removed the old bushes.

I went to measure the front arb as i have seen on this site that they come in 21or 23mm i have measured the arb on mine and it is 19mm

Does this mean i will also have to purchase a new arb along with bushes or can you get powerflex bushes to fit

Regards Whoosh:confused:

Powerflex don't do 19mm bushes.

On the powerflex site, the bushes shown are for the Octavia range. The Vrs has a 19mm front bar like an Audi TT (ie long drop links that bolt to the strut). The 21mm and 23mm bushes mentioned are for other Octy's in the range. These have a roll bar which bolts via short drop links to the lower control arms.

To sum up, you're right the bar is 19mm and these are the bushes you want. Look on the Audi TT 2wd page on the Powerflex site. Ps if your bar has plastic bush insert sleeves, check their condition. The inserts can crack and wear, causing the bar to knock. Its a fault rectified by fitting a later replacement bar with metal welded inserts. Hope this helps

let me get this right. your telling me that the vrs the sport car of the range has a smaller diameter anti roll bar than say grandads 1.4 comfort mobile!!!!

That is correct. Probably done to help minimise understeer to be honest. Didn't work though did it.
