accelerator gone heavy

Featured Replies

bit of an odd one this but has anyone had their accelerator go heavy or stiff? Ive not noticed it before but this week it seems to have gone stiffer than it usually is to the point that its aching my foot when not on cruise. Ive visually checked it and there arnt any obstructions or anything hanging off that i can see.

Mine did for a while when new but it is OK now after a bit of oil at the base and the back. BTW you take nice photos.

Have you checked it isn't your mats fouling it as they are a bit of a tight fit around there?

The accelerator is IIRC drive by wire so can't see a reason for it to go all stiff except for something getting into it like dirt etc.

i checked the matts and theyre the rubber fitted ones so sit about 1cm away from the accelerator. I had a quick fiddle before in the carpark of generally wiggling it about which seems to have cured it so it could well have been dirt in the mechanism. Ill keep an eye on it and get it checked by the dealer if it does it again as the accelerator is quite important really!

Had the same problem the other day - the floor mat had shifted underneath the accelerator. Guess that's why the two little toggle thingies are there, the ones I didn't used to use......

Hello mate,

Sorry have not been logging on much recently, I did it myself, can of WD40 and a bit of contortion.
