I can feel the turbo charger coming in about 1500RPM but it is as if it is cutting out about 3000RPM. It rather feels like the old power break down caused by faulty or old spark plugs in petrol engines. The Skoda dealers near me suggest air is getting into the system but have no idea which pipe might be the problem. Can anyone help please?

i think you will have to give us a clue as to what car you have got , then we can take a guess at the cause

maybe post the fault in the relevant section for your vehicle

Could be the MAF (Mass Air Flow) Sensor. Do a search on the forums and you should get a load of posts about it. It seems to be quite common for VAG cars. It's a bit of a weak link.

My car is a Skoda Octavia 1.9tdi

bb2107 - I too had Octavia 1.9tdi with these problems - no error codes on computer. Turned out to be MAF - most dealers can get exchange replacements for around £70.
