arb & 312'S fitted today!

Featured Replies

Hi,

As you can tell, I got my ARB and 312 brake set up fitted today. The difference is unbelievable. I've only managed a short blast on some twisties on my way home from work but I can't stop grinning (UNLIKE like the car, which now actually stops when you push the brake!)

What I really wanted to ask anyone else with an ARB is if they have also noticed not only a lack of body roll, but a lack of understeer?? I wasn't expecting this but the car now has a much sharper turn in and when I accelerate out of the corner, the car feels much 'tighter' through the power delivery and 'less likely' to slide out with understeer.

Obviously, I'm not promoting stupid driving or anyone to push it and find out but was wondering if anyone else has found similar characteristics??

P.s I also have a strut brace and eibachs if this makes any difference??

All I can say is the ARB is a MUST for every vRS owner!! :D

Yeah, if you combine it with Eibachs and decent tyres you get a car that when pushed will actually drift with a touch of oversteer. To appreciate it 100% you need to get it round a track. Around Coomb it was 2-4 seconds a lap quicker with the ARB fitted, in the real world it makes the car a lot more predictable, stable and safer.

You will have to watch something else now though. With the 312's as well if you brake in a corner the back end will get very light and you can get full oversteer.

Anyway, welcome to the world of a sweet handling car!
