Dodgy Fabia Stereo

Just a quick one, out of interest more than anything. I have a Y reg, 2001 Classic 8v Fabia, all standard spec unfortunately. I'm a little frustrated with the stereo.

It's hard to explain, but basically when listening to the radio, for the first 5-10 seconds, the quality is clear and great. But then suddenly, it's like the volume goes right down and it's been surpressed somehow. All the crispness and clarity is lost and it sounds dull and muffled. If I then re-tune slightly, say if I'm listening to Radio 1 I'll go up one on the dial, it re-sets - I get another 5-10 seconds of clear quality before it goes dodgy again.

Has anyone else experienced this, or is it just me? Is there any way to avoid it perhaps?
