I've bought a vRS!!!

Featured Replies

Hi all i've been reading up on various posts on here for a while as i've wanted a Fabia vRS for ages.

So i've finally went out and bought one, a 54 plate in silver with 12k miles and FSSH. The only problem is that i have to wait for the sellers private plate to come off before i get the car, which is a bit frustrating however i hope it's worth the wait!

it will be worth the wait.

hopefully it won't take 8 weeks, like it did me once to retain my plates.

welcome to briskoda.

Oh don't say things like that, i WONT wait that long, i was thinking end of the week tops! then i'll be looking for another car!

Hang in there, if it's the right car, it's worth waiting for.

Don't see why you couldn't just take with the current plate on it, then just swap to the original one when the DVLA had sorted out the papers? :rubchin:

That's what I did when I sold the Ibiza, in fact I'm still waiting for the paperwork back! Granted there were a few delays in my case, but it can take a while. But if the current seller takes all the necessary stuff to the local DVLA office it can be done there and then.

Anyway, all good things come to those who wait :)

Ive had mine just over a week, and yeah its great.

in my 36years ive had plenty of fast cars and the vrs is right up there..

loads of "real world" power and low running costs..best of both worlds.

Thats what i want to do, the current owner took the stuff to the dvla office today, but reckons they can ask to see the car at any time and you can't sell during the transfer period!

It is a good clean car, but i don't want to wait fro ages to get it, i'm a cash buyer and just want a car asap, not that much of an ask imo.

It usally takes a couple of weeks for them to send out the amended V5 and the retention certifiacte if the owner is puting it on retention or might be putting it on another car.

I doubt the DVLA will want to see the car, as its usually older cars or rarer ones that they will want to see if they actually exist as some people have still got old log books but scrapped the cars.

Im sure it wont take too long, or if its a nice number plate you could offer some cash and buy the car and plate together.
