Tailgate Trim

Featured Replies

Anyone know what the best way to get the trim off the insdide of the tailgate is?

My Fabia seems to have as much water squirting inside the tailgate as is actually coming out of the jet and so I need to get the trim off to investigate.

Anybody else done this?

Before I resort to the R.A.F method of removal with a crow bar and large hammer...

Ok, I know, every time you don't use the Search facility a kitten dies...

Well, I've done a search and found the answer!

Seems I just need to give it a firm tug... as the actress said to the bishop...

This was sorted for me under warranty by the dealer. Sort of a known issue from what they said.

best policy to remove the tailgate trim is to get the car as warm as possible inside , thus warming up the plastic trim , then you should be able to pull it off easier , it will take a good bit of levering, pulling etc , and really the top and 2 side trims need to be removed first , before you take the main section off

Si,

You know giving it a tug is the best policy!! :)

If it's anything like the Ibiza's, the trim is held in by those annoyingly strong clips on towers. Pull & hope for the best!!

Hint..a manual could come in handy now that I have two Furbs to look after...Hint!

Oh, tailgate trim, not TAILGATER TRIM!

"Smile, you're on prat cam!"

"It's conventional to buy me dinner before sniffing my v RS"

"If you can read this you're not looking at my BRAKE LIGHTS!!!"

"This car's a genie, once the road clears it disappears in a cloud of soot!"

just pull the trim off i had this problem with water leaking into the boot and it turned out to be a copper pipe that goes through the wiper motor was corroded so i needed to buy a new motor as you cant buy replacement parts for it it would have cost

Now fixed, took me about 10 minutes, but I think Fletcher Bros in Halifax need a roasting as this car was supposed to have a full service and check over before I bought it!

The rear washer pipe was disconnected under the bonnet and also inside the tailgate and I don't think we've had any frost since Saturday.
