Monitor set up!

Featured Replies

Have just purchased a HannsG HW191D 19" widescreen monitor and having a slight problem!

If i set up the monitor so that it fits the screen it keeps reverting back to how it was before i set it up.

Setting for the display in XP are 1440 x 900 which are the right for what i want.

What am i doing wrong!

I've got one at work with XP, and it just works at that resolution: I didn't do a thing to it. I'll have a play tomorrow and see if there's any adjustments....

Just remembered: I'm using the DVI input, so that's probably why mine just worked.

1440x900 is a low res for a 19" though

I get that on my 15.4" laptop, you sure it wont go higher?

Looks like 1440x900 is the native resolution of that panel.

Jay, any chances of a photo of how it is when it's "not right" and how it is after you've "corrected" it? Having trouble figuring out exactly what's not right on your display. :o

Have attached a pic at last.

As you can see it doesn't fill the screen.I then adjust the setting so it does, but it reverts back to how it was,not saving the setting.

Please,what am i doing wrong?

i bought the same monitor before buying a dell with a 20" LCD :o

anyway i have had a single issue with it, it just plugged in and worked. my dad is using it now with no issue's at all but i also connected it via the DVi connection on both my computer and my dads.

I am currently using vga lead till i get dvi lead, but i don't think that it matters.

there is nothing about the settings i don't think that will make a difference, try a dvi cable and if no change are you able to take the monitor and try it elsewhere?

Hmm, what graphics card do you have? I'm suspecting drivers now to be the cause of the problem.

it'll all be fine once you get a DVI lead :)
