Swissol/Swisvax

Featured Replies

Need ya help guys!!

Just traded our 3 year old Fabia Vrs for a great demo Octavia Vrs TDI in Black Magic :)

The car is stunning and today I've washed, waxed (Autoglym Ultra) and Autoglym lifeshined the car (bought off ebay at a fraction of the cost the dealer wanted and at least I know with the 3+ hours I spent just on the lifeshine the job is well done!)

So, is it worth me now investing in some Swissol/Swisvax Onyx to 'top coat' the car to try and keep it shining as it does now and to also help with cleaning etc???

Any thoughts would be gratefully received!!

Cheers

MD

Not sure about the Swissol stuff but I've just bought some Collinite 476 Super Doublecoat Wax (after reading good reviews on the A world for detailers... forums), and it certainly is impressive stuff.

Detailing World is a great site but god I feel a little anal over cleaning the car but just want to try and keeping looking the best I can! Victoria Concours looks good too but has to be applied with ya bare hands - now I'm going to sound like a woos cause I can't do that as I'm a musician and need to look after my hands. Since when has cleaning a car been so damn complicated???

Wouldn't mind doing all this on the Vrs and keeping my wife's car clean but I've got a new Cooper S coming next month that will no doubt be just as demanding to clean but thankfully a little smaller!!

Cheers!

Yes, it is.

Ive tried alot of waxes and nothing comes close to Swissol. Its well worth the cost!!

is onyx OK or do I have to spend more?? Also have you used the pre-was treatment or is having a car that is always hand cleaned once/twice a week good enough?

Thanks for ya help!

I use Onyx and I did the whole car with Meguires Scratch X first. You might want to clay it instead. Then gave it 2 coats of Onyx (Buff up between coats) Leave it an hour and then buff up again. Results are fantastic!!

I bought some swissol years ago on a group buy on briskoda.

Only used it a couple of times in a total cleaning session (wash, clay bar, sealant, wax, etc).

Took a good few hours but the results were very good. Also, I was impressed how well it came out considering I hadn't "looked after" the paintwork much. But I suppose the previous owner had meticulously looked after it so that must have helped

Swissol's recommendation was to use Saphir on water-based acrylic paints like Skoda's.

I now use Best of Show, but most people would consider that excessive. Besides the quality of the finish, Swissol waxes are durable - mine only gets waxed twice a year and the surface beads water all year round. You could justify a more expensive wax if you had to use it less often.
