Fabia 1.4 MPi Leak from engine

Featured Replies

Hi,

My Fabia is leaking coolant onto my driveway and I am unsure of where it is coming from as I have already changed the leaking water pump. A light comes on the dash when it gets low (it looks like the temperature thing) and I have noticed that the temperature gauge doesnt always work.

Has anybody had anything like this as I arent looking forward to going to my local Skoda Garage and paying out a loada money!

If the coolant is on the passenger side at the front below the radiator, it is very likely to be a leaking radiator fan switch which will probably just need tightening up a little. If you can see the switch in the side of the radiator look for pink stains left by the coolant.

Ok, I think it may be more towards the passenger side but it is still quite central. I will get my dad to have a look cuz I have no idea wot goes on under the bonnet!

Thanks

I had this happen to mine just after I had it , (same engine) , it was the temp gauge sender switch (i think thats what they said it was - possibly the same thing Fordfan mentioned) on the radiator. It's a common problem apparently , I had mine done under (used car) warranty.
