not happy with door respray

Featured Replies

I got my car on the 1st of march this year love it to bits  but have never been happy with the rear off side door paintwork, it just dosent seem to shine as much as the rest of the boddywork.

After further investigation i have now seen the lines where the car has been masked up for a respray. i asume that there was some damage before i got the car and repaired as the car is 2 months old now where do i stand,

i will go back tho the dealer in the week has anyone else had this before or am i just fussy?

am i just fussy?

Not at all. I assume it was brand new on 1/3?

You go back and tell them politely but firmly that you are not happy and want it painting properly, AND some sort of monetary compensation for all the trouble and disappointment it's caused you.

It was supposed to be a brand new car, and as such that's what you should receive, not a damaged repaired.:finger:

Sounds like whoever did the respray failed to put enough lacquer on, it needs to go back, hopefully they wont deny any knowledge of the respray.

Quiet a few cars have damage when they arrive at the dealers, so dont worry about that, they just havent sorted it properly.

:wrthless:

To be fair the dealers don't always know if the car has been damaged in transit and repaired by Skoda before they get them. take it back to get them to sort it out under warranty (that is what it is for). As for monetary compensation that is what the warranty is not for.

thats what i think i will try to go in the dealer this week

i would put pics on but the pics dont really show up the problem that much it is best seen by eye

If I were you I'd be very unhappy. If you buy a brand new car then you expect it to be spotless. If the car has been damaged and then repaired, surely you should have been told? I'd go back to the dealer asap. You'll have to give them a chance to repair the car properly, but if still not happy then I'd reject the car.
