Hi all,new to this site 7 could do with a few questions answering!! I have felicia 1.9 diesel pickup & would like to do a few mods!! can a turbo be fitted from another VAG donor,or would a complete motor be easier & if so which one??

can the truck be lowered using vag bits cheaply? is teh door furniture from a saloon etc transferable,mine is rough!!

yeah the door cards are the same

Engine - fair bit of work whichever you choose.

Suspension - Fronts are the same, rear is unique to the pick-up, I ended up going custom

Trim - as mentioned same as hatchback (I had regular hatch trim in mine as the standard half yellow trim was rather tired)

I saw on ebay a while ago a pickup,which said it had a seat turbo/manifold fitted to stock motor,with some other intercooler. any comments? or thoughts.

I ftted a Rayvern Hydraulic air suspension kit to my Fun.

I cant think what turbo they would have fitted, maybe off an older ibiza diesel (1Z maybe). But either way the turbo and non turbo engines differ in other parts, not just the turbo.

isn't the 1Z engine direct injection???? you would need the injection pump, injectors & pipes too

the most difficult thing with that conversion would be fitting the pownpipe from the turbo.. there isn't much clearance around the steering rack:)

Does anybody know what the 1.3 engine in the pickup is? is it the Spi or the Mpi?

i think they were fitted with both types at some time... the earlier ones had the spi

Not being clued up on Skodas yet... How do you identify a SPi Versus an MPi?

With the peugeots I've had, SPi has the one injector in the top of the inlet manifold, and the MPi looks visibly different, with the different injectors (obvious eh!) Is it as easy as that to tell with the Skodas? Cheers!

the single point injection models have a round airbox on top of the engine...

the multipoint ones have a square air box to the left of the engine.

to complicate things further there are 2 types of spi and 2 types of mpi as well

Aargh nightmare! some research to get my teeth into first then I think!

If it works the same as the Favorit engines the 135 is the low compression engine, and the 136 is the high compression engine (more bhp but same engine size).

been speaking to a guy in Sweden, re turbo fitment( seams popular out there) fit turbo & inlet of mid90's vw td (aaz?) need to aler where turbo sits to behind motor,but doesn't seem to dificult,will have to see!!

At present fitted cold air system( seems to make it rev better) & looking to cut out cat as also told makes noticable difference.

fitted 15" deepdish wheels (bmw I think) car interior & chnging colour to black to go with recaro leather seat & golf steering wheel.

lowering on the cards soon as I'm having a set of springs made up for front & rear.

Suspension:

Lowering for the rear you want mk4 golf springs..... i used the 40mm jamex lowering ones for the 1.4-1.6 models iirc. Not the GTi ones (although standard GTi ones work fine i believe and will be cheap to get hold of). These springs lowered it plenty at the rear trust me.

The fronts you need felicia lowering springs. See POTN site for cheapest set i can find. Around
