Brodit phone mount for octy 2

Featured Replies

Recieved a new company phone and handsfree kit including phone mount. I dont like the idea of using the supplied mounting bracket and want to buy something like the brodit clip. I dont mind if the phone is mounted low on the console or by the radio, but is one available and where from.

I got one for mine and I like it  .

I bought it from Nemesis the UK distributors of Brodit if my memory serves me right but you will have to contact them for the part number as I don't know what it is.

Just found the reference numbers for you:

Console mount: 633527, this fits near the gear lever.

Angled Mount: 653526, this fits by the radio.

Right Mount: 603807, this fits in the right hand vent.

More info can be found here: Brodit.se

Excellent.

Thanks for the help, I was worried that their wasnt one available.

The other issue I need to sort, is the kit has its own external speaker. I'd like to get this going through the audience HU instead of the speaker, also

The last issue is power, the kit requires an optional switched supply. Optional because without it the kit will only work with the phone in the holder, if I connect the switched supply then I can pair additional bluetooth phones with the kit and as I now have three mobiles it would be good to use all of them through the same kit.

Any advice on parts needed etc, to get this working. I will not be doing the installation, this is being carried out by an approved Orange installer.

There is a really nice leather bound unit that fits to the left of the aircon controls. Some pictures on here but can't remember for the life of me what the thread was now.

Stu, I have updated my previous post, any ideas on the connectivity.

Pretty much as recently in these threads Manny.

You'll need an additional wire in from the fuse box using a Skoda connector for the switched live. A plug and associated connectors for the speaker and telemute. Pinouts are on the Octavia site in the MFD2 section or on the back of your radio.

Gimme a shout if you want any more info mate.

The installer may use a mute lead - don't like them myself but they are quicker and easier. If it were me I'd buy the connectors etc and have them ready.

In the end I have ordered both Brodit holders, the console one and the one for the left of the radio. Now awaiting delivery of those, tried 2 suppliers and both out of stock. will put the unused items on here. I have also ordered the parts mentioed in one of the threads above from my local dealer, gave him the numbers on the phone so lets see what happens.

Having read through the manual for the h/free kit I dont need the switched supply, even for bluetooth operation so will not bother with the fusebox connection.

Got the wiring bits from the dealer this evening, a green connector and a single yellow lead. Being novice with the quadlock I cant work out how to assemble the single wire into the connector, and which hole of the many it needs to go into as I am unsure what the single lead was for.

The single wires push into the connector. Some of the connectors have additional locking 'tabs' that you need to slide before the wire will push in.

You don't say which connection you wish to make so I can't tell you which hole.

Not really sure myself, as there are several connections that need to be made. The first to mute the stereo and switch it to "PHONE", and the others for the input from the Nokia carkit sound output into the connector so that the sound from the carkit plays through the stereo and not the huge loudspeaker in the kit.

I thought you were having it professionally fitted?

There will be a sticker on the top of the radio casing with the pinouts. Should look something like the ones here - Octavia-vRS.com - MFD2 Install Guide

Assuming they are the same as the ones indicated on the left lower image, cut the speaker off and connect the +ve and -ve cables to the ones marked TEL AF+ and TEL AF- and then the mute lead from the nokia kit to the TEL MUTE.
