OctyII Vrs intake photo.

Featured Replies

Did small home made chip tuning of my OctyII 1.9TD :D ( up to 145HP and 375Nm non tested yet :rally: ) Overall spend a bit more then 200E. But now I am looking how to improve air intake. I’m definitely going for Green or K&N panel filter but maybe some one can make and post photos of VRs TFSI or 170PD air intake? I can say big TNX  for this! :)

This is an Evolution Motorsport (EVOM for short) Ram Air Intake which is quite popular with the TFSI both in the OctyII vRS and VW Golf MkV Gti.

Tnx! Not bad idea. But with this design, how often you clean this filter ? And also, did you check air temp. around filter ?

The filter isn't oiled.

Hmm, But how this filter working without oil ? But this is another question. The main is taht looks like intake pipe is half inch wider then mine. :)

Have not 'cleaned' the filter yet but the manufacturers running a hoover over it once in a while to get rid of the dead insects etc. As for intake temperature, you will see that the filter is in an 'enclosure' and the air enters through the original opening and more or less pressurises the area around the filter which is why they call it a "Ram Air Intake" rather than a "Cold Air Intake".

Makefish - never mind the finer points of ram air intakes or whatever, you clearly have too much time on your hands - your engine bay is perversely clean and as for the shine and the beading on your nearside wing - have you no shame man? ;-)

I can assure you Neil his engine bay is not clean - it's disgraceful!!!

Good luck with fitting that on a TDi..lol

No, I just putted everything to single basket and decided to order K&N Panel filter ;-) . This should be ok.
