Featured Replies

i have recently bought a 2002 Octavia 4x4 Turbo (private). i have had the engine warning light come, took it for a diagnostic check which showed CAM SENSOR fault!. Bought a new one for

Is it a cam sensor correlation fault?

Thanks for that, but please ignore my ignorance...what is a corelation fault, please

You need to have the fault codes checked again, VAG COM or dealer equipment will give you a little more info on the fault than just cam sensor.

Has it had a cambelt or is it due one?

the car has done 49,000. still the original cam belt as far as i know. I did notice when changing the sensor that the cam belt felt slack. I thought that i may just tighten up when the engine is running.I had better take it and get the diagnostics done again. Cheers

Welcome from a fellow 4X4 owner. :) The cam belt is overdue a change since its maximum life is now 4 years or 120,000 miles, whichever comes first. Get the water pump changed at the same time, plus the cam belt tensioner.
