Alloy wheels wheelnuts

Featured Replies

Hi, My first post. bought a Fabia 1.2 Sport last week. Lovely little motor with all the toys and very impressed with it.

Bougt a haynes manual today and note that the wheel nuts torque setting is 89ft lbs.

However the pictures all show steel wheels and am unsure if this applies to alloy wheels.

Never had alloys before and this torque seems very high even for steel wheels.

Can anyone advise if this is correct.

120nm in modern talk is the correct torque.

Also Hello and I moved to the correct section.

Thanks for that Lummox and sorry about getting it into the wrong section.

It does seem a very high torque indeed. I would have imagined that with the softer alloys it would have tended to be somewhat lower than steel rims.

Nice to know for sure though.....

Sturdee.

if you ask me 120 nm is too much, you'd be brakin your back getting them off! i torque mine to 80 90ish.
