trim rattle prevention...

Featured Replies

is there any way i can stop certain panels in my car from rattleing against each other? i was thinking of lining all the contact bits with some sort of spongey material or something squidgey?... anyone tried anything simular... just when its cold my car creeks over bumps and its really annoying!:)

Adhesive backed insulation foam strip from B&Q (or similar), a quick squirt of silicone sealer sometimes does the trick too.

Where is it creaking from?

Where is it creaking from?

back seats area... just the back!

Have you checked that the back seats are secured properly? If not, creaking is pretty common.

mine creaks from the two parts of the dash just above the headlisght switches. it's not actually a creak its a buzzing noise! so damn annoying

as per Tom_vRS.... felt tape will be available from your dealer... its a wonder tape that stuff! Answer to all rattly warrantys!

Aldi were selling felt pads last week, 20 odd for 99p.

another vote vote for felt tape.

All u need is a small flat head screwdriver to pursuade the felt into the gap between the offending panel and hey presto no more rattle.

ahh thanks guys, will look into seeing if the dealer has any availible:)

Another place that buzzes when the car is cold (inside) is the interior light surround. The funny thing is that the noise SEEMS to come from the glovebox!!!
