Hello everyone,

:newbie:

Just a quick post to say hello and that I've joined the Briskoda community. My background was in VWs (I had two Beetles, a '73 1303 and a '70 1500, and a much-missed '87 Golf GTI 16V) but my Dad's been running an Octavia and it's impressed us both. So when I came to replace my much-hated 306, a Skoda looked sensible. I've now got a 2000 Fabia 1.4 Comfort 8V and so far it seems great. Couple of little things you might be able to help with:

1. It's showing a low PAS fluid warning light. Do Skoda use the same PAS fluid as other VAG cars?

2. The stereo seems to have a mind of its own. On the journey home, it kept randomly muting itself, re-tuning and flicking quickly between fader, balance, bass and treble settings. Does that sound to you more like a loose connection or the beginning of the end?

Thanks for your help. I'll post more later, once I've got the hang of the forum, I'm sure.

Si

1. yes, it's normall ATF fluid

2. err. it's broke!

hello and welcome

Welcome to Briskoda.

Enjoy

Is the power steering functioning correctly?

It is very common on earlier cars for the PAS sensor to fail.
