My rubber boot mat - from Skoda is the liner - I think the more plastic tray has a lip.

The liner I've fitted has no lip and is fantasticly easy to clean rather than carpet.

Yeah, there's a rubber mat, or a rubbery/plasticy tray

The tray is far more useful, imo

OR... you could give her your better boot mat, and keep the naff new one yourself?

I am so glad I looked at this thread, I got the plastic car mats and think they are great

:bump: on this as I'm looking to get one of these.

Dave - how did it work out in the end, liner vs. tray? Would you say the tray is worth the extra cash?

Cheers,

Steve

the more expensive "tray" version works for me Steve , i've had all sorts in the boot and rarely does anything get underneath to the carpet

Cheers Ric. Do you find it stops stuff moving about in the boot as well, as it's a bit more grippy than carpet? :)

Just does seem a fair amount for some plastic :rubchin:

Steve

stuff still moves about i suppose , it depends what you want to carry really

Steve,

They are both good in their ways..... The tray is made of what seems like a tougher plastic than the liner which is rubber. The lip on the tray is approx an inch or slightly more where as the lip on the liner is about half an inch.

The liner is better than the tray in this respect as it is made from rubber it grips anything in the boot a lot better than the tray does in mine.

All in all they both do the same job..... we have the dog in the back of both cars and have had no problems etc with either of them. I guess it's down to personal choice on this one to be honest..... If i had got the liner originally as i should have, (Dealer cocked up and ordered the tray instead of the liner but only charged me for the liner), i would still be happy with it.

Cheers

Dave.

Thanks for that Dave, appreciated. Will probably just sort a liner out then.

Steve
