Creaking Noise - help please !

Featured Replies

Hi

I have noticed over the past few weeks when turning into the road leading to my garage (it's a tight bend, full lock job) there is a creaking noise coming from what sounds like the front passenger side footwell. Only seems to happen with full lock (or very near ) and at low speeds. I suppose it could be happening at higher speed, but I just can't hear it. I've only had it a year and a bit, just a bit concerned. Any comments off anyone, should I drop it back to the dealer and see what they say.

Cheers

dry front roll bar bush ?

i'd take it to the dealer and get them to check it out

Hi there,

I have the same problem with my Furby. As it's still in warranty, it has been back at two dealerships. One claimed it was the dashboard and asked me to book it in and have it all removed. The second said the problem was possibly ARB bushes and would require an overnight stay in the workshop. I then dropped the car off and reset the trip.

On picking the car up I was told all the suspension and ARB bolts were re-torqued. The car appears to be a bit better but still creaks to some extent, I was also told that Skoda do not carry out warranty work on creaks/ rattles if the car is over a year old.

I'd only return the car to a dealer if you find the rattle unbearable as I found the garage had done nearly 30 miles in my car! Perhaps a mechanic didn't have a ride home that day. I was going to complain direct to Skoda but it seems this is typical of most garages these days - they always find an excuse.

Good luck

Thanks guys, I think I'll get my local dealer to have a quick look for me at some point soon.

front subframe has to be dropped to replace the roll bar , hence the reason for a full day to do
