dragon box

Featured Replies

hi guys im lookin at gettin a dragon box for my vrs with 10k. As i read in another thread it says the one click map is harsh and can cause clutch slip prematurley. Is this the case also with the dragon box?

Thanks

No clutch slip on mine at the moment, (54reg, 31k miles) after 3k miles with the box on. Pulls like a train, very rare occasional DMF vibration in 4th gear, economy about the same as before, unless booting it, when it drops like a stone. But it is a bit spikey in its delivery at the bottom end, I have mine on the highest power setting, and it hunts a bit when running between 1500-2000rpm on part throttle, but I've got used to it.

There's a story behind mine, but its the best

or you can have mine for

It's not that simple and it depends on the box. Remap will always be better for performance. Do a search, there are loads of threads detailing the Pro's and Con's :)

AMD one click is a mild remap and I have not heard of a clutch slipping on one ....the dragon did make mine slip as it is quite aggressive ......amd one click on a pd 130 will be around 170 bhp...... for the dragon on the same engine 171bhp so there isnt a lot in it....

Remap will alter a lot of things ...the dragon will only overfuel the engine and could throw up an engine management fault....never has with any I have known but a few others on here have.

cheers i think i,ll get a re-map before prague, if the pennies will strech that far.

Whoa there!

The One click generic is not a "mild" map and I know for two dead flywheels and clutches because of the HUGE torque wall.

The One click is good for 170/290.

Same engine

amd one click 167.2 bhp and 275 lb/ft torque

Dragon 175.5 bhp and 288.6 lb/ft torque

And I know which one made the clutch slip......the dragon torque comes in all of a sudden but the one click has a much flatter and steady torque curve

The Dragon curve is worse that this???????????

TBH your going to get slightly different figures on different roads and at different times, but the shape of the curve will usually be a reasonable constant.

it's worse the blue (top) is the torque
