Fold down hook in boot (vRS TDi)

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Did a search, couldn't turn anything up.

In the boot of my vRS TDi Octavia is a little fold down hook, mounted on the left hand side. It's useful for hanging up bags of shopping. There appear to be appropriate bolt holes in the opposite side of the boot and I was wondering if there is a part number to mount another one there?

Anyone? It's a useful little feature.

Dave.

From my 'original accessories' book I picked up from the dealer the other day.

... and then you could sling a hammock betweeen the two and have a kip!

only if you're a dwarf

Hmm, can anyone post up a photo of where and how the hook attaches... This could be a nice little mod! :)

I suppose next you are going to ask for one looking up at the fixings

cruise control (thanks Stu!!)... OEM+

Does this mean 'Stu' helped / sorted out / otherwise assisted in fitting CC to your car?

Take a look at VRStu's site - Octavia-vrs.com

I had hooks on both sides from new - could it be that you've got a mis build vehicle?

Interesting fact No1....

Skoda actually designed said carrier bag hooks and hold the patent for them.

Interesting fact No2....

Skoda 'allow' VW to use said design.

Even more interesting fact No3....

Mercedes actually pay Skoda for the right to use said carrier bag hooks in thier cars.

:)

Thats a nice little bunch of factoids  VW get the hooks, we should get damped grab handles in return :D

Excellent idea:thumbup:

my Fabia could do with hooks to carry my bags of assorted car-care products, is there a retro-fit hole where this 20th century idea could be implemented?

( I can't fit a packhorse in the boot:O )

My Elegance Octy came with 2 hooks as standard. I have a feeling they are rated as being able to carry 25 kg each. I can get loadsa shopping on them anyway………………

Also On the subject of hooks, the Nissan Micra (I do think they are a great little car) has a hook in the passenger footwell for carrying a small bag, but we used to call it the Curry hook……for obvious reasons. Every car should have one as standard. It works equally well with Chinese food and fish and chips in a bag, but my thorough road testing of the affore mentioned device revealed a design flaw when it came to carrying Pizza:( .

Got them in my vRS but never use them as I prefer the cargo net.

Would be good for curry or gold fish though :)

It's being replaced this year if she ever makes her bloody mind up: Fabia vRS/new Fabia/Octavia L&K/Nissan QASHQAI

The new Nissan X-Trail looks pretty good especially with the 173hp Renault diesel engine. I think it will retain it

I think I have 3 hooks in mine, two either side and one on the underside of the parcel shelf. But its too dark and wet to check now!

I think that is for hanging the boot floor on while you change a wheel

Thanks for the help chaps, Amanda, according to the manual they're rated for 10KG, 5KG on each side of the fold down hook.

Dave.

5kg! how can I hang only 5kg of shopping. The people at Skoda must only be amateurs at shopping:D

That's 10KG per hook though, just for clarification. Don't think it was obvious in my post. So each hook can hang 2 bags of 5KG each.

Not suprised, you don't have a parcel shelf..lol
