Amplifying standard H/U

Featured Replies

I'm considering adding an amplifier to my standard symphony head unit (If I can't find an MFD). I don't expect a show stopping sound but since I have a decent amp' sitting, doing nothing I'm thinking it might be an improvement? I already have uprated speakers. Any thoughts?

P.S. I know I will have to use the speaker level inputs.

You dont need to use speaker level inputs, with the right lead the symphony has line outs on the back.

Ah ha! I've got a diagram of the connections on the back and I see you are absolutely right! So does this mean I could get a good quality sound from the Symphony or am I kidding myself? Thanks for your input.

That certainly looks right! Thanks very much, really appreciate it :D

It sounds better than you'd think. Major groan/moan is the lack of EQ options meaning if you don't like the "type" of sound it's giving you, you're stuck or buying a new HU. Choice of speakers and amp obviously influence this though...

I think it might be this cable if that helps?

Blaupunkt preamp output lead

Is there something similar to this for the Stream MP3 HU in '07 Octavias? Mine's due in a couple of weeks and I'd like to use an amp I have from my previous Octy... I'd be really dissapointed if I can't wire my amp properly...
