Boot spoiler or not?

Featured Replies

I'm picking up my 225/45/R17 Zenith wheels tomorrow (courtesy of Ants).

I'm really tempted by the VRS boot spoiler (

I reckon it would look good  its not as if its going to look over the top, the spoiler is pretty subtle yet just gives a slightly more sporty edge, much like the 17" alloys will :)

At leas there is not brake light in the spoiler (as far as I can see), so you wouldn't have to do any wiring up or remove your old high level brake light.

...thats something I think looks dead tacky, when you can tell a spoiler has been added because of the presence of two high-level brake lights, when there should only be one!

I suppose if you're getting Zenith vRS wheels fitted then maybe it would look OK, but not sure on the idea if I'm totally honest.

I think it would look decent, even more so considering it would be an OEM part

I would go for it - I really like both the boot spoiler and the rear bumper (with the reflectors) on the VRs.

Sorry, can't do a photoshop but here's a pic of my vRS to show the bot spoiler from a comparable angle.

Hope this helps;-

Oh all right then; I am :P ;)

Love the alloy BTW :)

Well, here are the new alloys. I think the boot spoiler and chrome exhaust tips will work a treat.

I'm not sure if the spoiler is primed but I will need to paint and fit it myself. It doesn't come with a separate brake light.

Not sure whether you will get the effect as your colour is not vRS? Maybe the rear boot spolier off the sport would look better on yours?

this is my sport, as you can see it does work. 18" Zeniths, new VRS front bumper, New VRS rear Spoiler, new painted side stips., green calipers and now 177bhp...

But the sport pretty much has the VRS body kit.

I'd go for the small boot lip spoiler off the sport and paint thr rubbing strips myself.

Sorry to side track...what did you do with your Sport spoiler?

I've got the 18's on my car as well now....however they still look small as there are gaping holes in my arches! :(

Jon,

the wheels look a treat. Now get the boot spoiler done!

Defo do the boot spoiler! Will look very nice.

If you wanted a VRS, why didn't you buy one?

I hadn't realised the Sport had a different spoiler from the VR's.

Agree that the side strips should be colour coded, but again the problem I would have is the bumper strps would also need doing....

I too would like the chrome tailpipes, but with having a TDi the pipes go down at an angle so to fit would need to cut the current tail pipes off first.

I've got the 18's on my car aswell now....however they still look small as there are gaping wholes in my arches! :(

think it got destroyed whilst being taken off. i wasn't bothered about it back

Mines a 55 and a TDi Spot 140bhp, i didn't want petrol as a used a company fuel card (diesel only) and the vRS wasn't out only the sport. Where as now with the work done, the remap to 177bhp i've got one really, only the interior is different, although i have the facia around the radio which apart form the steering wheel is the only difference as the sport was already half way there. I had a Fabia vRS before and the seats got filty as we do loads of forest rallying and in and out with muddy boots and wet coats stained the seats.

Have you considered something like the Milotec lip spoiler - a little bit more subtle maybe....

Jon,

you WILL need the extra stability for the Prague trip :)

I think the VRS spoiler looks better than the lip spoiler so that would be my choice.

The rear bumper spoiler looks really nice too but pricey.

I think i'll just stick to the boot spoiler and chrome exhaust tips and that should be enough. All I will need then is to decrease my aerodynamics so you noobs can keep up with me on the way to Prague :P
