Fabia VRS Heated Seats

Featured Replies

Iv seen a few fabia vrs,s for sale with heated seats,is this part of a "winter pack" option?

As far as I know they never done a 'winter pack' option, but the heated seats were an optional extra for around

yeah is just a option think it is around

any way of upgrading the existing seats in my vrs??

Not with the OEM kit but you might find an after market kit.

I take it you cant take the parts from an exisiting heated seat and retro fit them to the VRs seats?

I guess that you probably could but it's likely to be a lot of hassle you would need the heated seats as well as the control boxes, switches and wiring loom.

Yeah, these might be a possibility but you'd also need the switches, loom etc  .

That's just one of the two elements fitted to each seat, you'll need two of them and two backrest elements & it'll then take you quite a while to strip down the seats to fit them and rebuild, then there's the control boxes, switches, looms ....... etc ...... bit of a nightmare TBH ! :(

If you were really that determined to have heated seats ( and they are good by the way  ) I'm sure it could be done but it's likely to work out pretty expensive.;)

Thanks TD, I assumed it would be a lot of effort. I was kind of hoping the loom was already in place and just needed to fit and connect the heating elements. Wishfull thinking I know but sometimes it works out.

I thought ESP was standard on the Vrs?

D'oh, double posted

I thought ESP was standard on the Vrs?
ASR is

Ahh, thanks thats what I was thinking of.

dont understand why they never made esp standard on the fabia vrs as the rest of the vag range have it dont they standard?

My reckoning is they didn't make ESP standard on the Fabia vRS due them wanting it to be competitively priced, thus making it a lot more attractive to a wider audience. I think if its standard price was

The airbag deact switch has never been standard as far as I know.

The very early models had a winter pack option which included the heated seats and heated washer jets, but this was soon superseded with just the heated seats option. Rear windows were also available on the early models as an option.

Other than cruise, leather and satnav (and possibly the 3rd rear head rest), all the options really are a case of get em when new, or dont bother.

should be standard on every car on the road

No thanks :D

You don't want ESP?

The elegance in the scrapper I went to yesterday had elec seats. I imagine the switches in the dash and wired into the whole wiring loom - Not sure where they would come out into the cabin to hook up to the seats themselves. There is probably more than just the switches too. As it's a variable heat system, I wonder if there's some kind of resistor somewhere for it too?

You don't want ESP?

Not especially. If it's fitted to all new cars then people will just rely on it, a bit like people driving nose-to-tail because they have ABS. All these electronic gizmo's just mean that when they are unable to beat the laws of physics they are going to be involved in a much bigger crash....

Chris

are you implying u rather not have abs either?? :D:D

Again, not especially :D

Chris

There are a lot of drivers out there who turn off the gizmos as a first step before pulling away in the car...EPS, ASR

...and ABS if there was a switch that allowed it.

They all act as a nice safety harness but I reckon its best to learn to drive the vehicle without gizmos. Thats why I went without the ESP option on the Fabia.

I agree that if these things are available they should be standard on all cars rather than just for those who can afford it. At the same time, if I were faced with the choice again I wouldn't pay (much) extra for it.

Heated seats on the other hand are an absolutley essential - especially if you live somewhere cold in winter  :P
