i know this is on the wrong forum but ....what is the diference in the 115 golf to the 130-150 ? is it the engine, turbo or ecu ?

the engine will be the same 1.9PD in 130 and 150 bhp, the turbo will possibly be different , and the injectors also will be different , engine management will have a different program for each engine

so it could be quite expensive to make a 115 bhp model a 130-150 model before starting to remap and tune  iv just found quite a nice golf instead of a fabia only problem is its a 115 model

I'd chat with a tuner and see what they say as they might be able to get the 115 breathing fire like a re-mapped PD130 with just a slightly different map.

The basic engine block is the same, but there are significant differences inside. Essentially the 130bhp version has strengthened parts. Therefore you cannot simply upgrade a 115 to a 130. This is different with the 130 and 150 engines as they are pretty much identical - the difference is with the turbo.

If your looking to remap a 115 you want a later model, the first 115 have a different ECU that is "one time programable" and cant be flash remapped over the OBD port.

As for 130 compared to 150, different turbo and FMIC on the 150 PD TDI. The 160 cupra is similar but runs 1.55bar boost and the 150 runs at 1.50 bar standard
