Induction kit fit, now questions :P

Featured Replies

I just fit a Pipercross induction kit and followed the instructions that i had. Everything seems to work fine but in the picture you can see the original pipe which is still there and loose, i would just remove it but it is also connected to the engine as well, i can only assume it was warm air being recirculated through the air filter.

So what i would like to know is, what do i do with this loose bit? just tie it up somewhere?

Cheers

Looks like your air - intake pipe. Are you sure it's connected to the engine? If it is your air intake pipe, you can just remove it altogether, as there should be screws located at the opposite side.

yea this one im showing now is connected to the pipe in the first picture and also to the engine...

That looks like a warm air divert from the manifold.

is it needed?

If it's what I think it is then no, not with the induction kit you have.

Why not just disconnect it from the engine side and remove it.

Also does increase fuel consumption? if so by what percentage on average?

Not in itself. Just for the pure fact, you'll rag it more.

If there's more air available, won't the car put more fuel into the mix which will harm economy?
