Climatronic not working

Featured Replies

Hello,

My wife took our Octy vRS to a main dealer to get a replacement key coded on Thursday. They said it would only take 15 minutes but ended up being some 45 minutes.

I got in the car on Friday and tried to switch on the climatronic - nothing. No display, niet, nada, nien, NOTHING. :thumbdwn:

The display doesn't even show OFF. Prior to the visit to the dealership the climatronic had been wroking perfectly in both ECON and AIRCON modes. It seems mighty coincidental that a visit to the dealership and no more aircon.

Not surprisingly the dealership are claiming that the coding of a replacement key is nothing to do with the climatronic. My wife is adamant it was working before she got to the dealership (she had turned it to OFF) upon leaving, and I had it working the day before.

Anyone got any ideas on what the problem could be? I am taking the car back to the main dealer on Monday and am fully prepared to get the dealer principal involved and Skoda if I am charged for getting to the bottom of this problem.

Cheers,

Darren

Took the car to the dealership who programmed the new key. They claim they would not have touched the climatronic unit.

After putting the diagnostic machine on my car they told me the control unit has packed up as it will not communicate with the diagnostic machine.

They are right in that the key programming has nothing to do with the climatronic. And unless its popped a fuse it would well be a faulty ECU.

No, the fuse is working.

I have put 2 litres of oil in the car and still the warning light is coming on.

2 litres... that a lot of oil to top it back up with..... what does the old fashioned dipstick say?

Oil light red or orange? My TDi quite likes drinking oil :( but it is within VAG spec, but a pain to my wallet as the variable servicing oil seems to cost a fortune.

Orange oil light. Will check the dipstick and see what that says.

Orange = bit low on oil

Red = give me oil now

iirc
