Had my Aircon serviced, and problems :(

Featured Replies

Should have posted this before looking for a new compressor really :D

Star Performance gave my car a service, put the cupra bushes in and gave me an aircon service on Friday morning, stumbled on a wee problem though.

Dont quote me on this, but Brian went thru the aircon system as usual, but when he checked the pressures between the high and low they stayed the same, aircon on or off, so it seemed that there was no movement in the system. I just guessed it was the clutch, but Chris said earlier that the Fabias do-not have a clutch in the aircon??

Brian did mention something about signals etc, but my mind was elsewhere (thinking about

Were there any fault codes logged? IIRC, Jason had to replace one of the high/low pressure sensors, and I had to replace the evap temp sensor so it seems the sensors may be the weak link of the system :D

Hiya!

I had the same problem, noticed that tha a/c wasn't kicking in at all after having it re-gassed a few weeks ago.

I recently gained access to VAG-COM software, and after a search on here, discovered the following:

When doing a scan of the Electronic Control Module (no. 09) that "Engine Control Module Incorrectly Coded" - so changed the code from 00095 to 00071 - aparrently the correct code for my vehicle (I hope!), and the A/C is now working perfectly. It's a shame the sunshine hasn't shown itself since!!

I posted this on an earlier thread, and fordfan replied with the following engine codes for earlier Fabia engines:

Engine Control Unit Codes - Fabia 2000 to ?

00061 petrol engine and air con

00071 petrol engine ABS and air con

00005 diesel engine and air con

00006 diesel engine air con and ABS

If you have VAG-COM, please confirm with further details of your vehicle on here, with someone with more understanding than me before making any changes. If you don't, find someone near you who has got it who'd be happy to plug you in!

If that's your problem - it's a very cheap fix, so I suggest you look at this first off!

Hope this helps :-)

:bump:

Can anyone confirm the correct coding, as above, for the Fab vRS? Mine's fairly early (Oct 2003 reg'd), if that helps/makes a difference.

Just in case this is the cause of the issue I'm currently having with AC.

Thanks,

Steve
