oil in the water

my wifes car a 4yr old fabia vrs now has a water expansion tank full of oil !!!!:eek: :eek: :eek: :eek: i am going to investigate this morning, it seems to be running ok but the temperature light is on but the gauge is fine? i am geussing they have a water/oil heat exchanger, before you ask i haven't checked to see if there is water in the oil, i will do shortly. can anyone steer me in the right direction? thanks mark

tbh, sounds bad mate - do a search on here for our mate WW's run in with the same problem....

no water in the oil and running fine, off to the garage tommorrow and rob a bank on the way home i think. ps where will i find ww's feed, i searched on oil in water

That sounds like a gasket failure to me. Good luck...

problem could be the oil cooler mounted under the oil filter housing on the front of the block , we have had a few of these go on the Fords i work on , and for some reason the water never gets in the oil , just the reverse happens oil in the cooling system as you have got , new oil cooler , hoses and a flush out with non-bio washing liquid usually sorts it
