my fabia vrs will be 3 years old in november as yet ive not made any claims on the warranty, wondered if anybody else has had the following problems & how skoda responded? 1. paint flaking off front bumper 2. paint bubbling on alloys 3. drivers seat creaking after long journey:confused:

Can't help with the first two, but the seat base creaking is a common problem which should be fixed under warranty without quibble....

Paintwork will/should be covered for longer than the 3years. I know that is the case with peugeot's.

The paint flaking is not isolated and mine had to have a full bumper respray sponsered by the warranty. They should have no problem doing this. There are a few threads about it

The paint on my last VRS wheels started to bubble and flake, took it to my dealer and the warranty chap said "no problem" and 3 days later all 4 wheels where replaced under warranty.

Mind you, it was easy to see there was no damage of any kind to any of the wheels and that they still had the original tyres, valves and factory wieghts on.

If you have replaced tyres, valves etc they could refuse the warrenty on the wheels due to poor workmanship (unless you had the tyres fitted by your dealer) at tyre change time or other enviromental factors.

Paint warranty is 3 years.

And the Anti Perforation warranty is 10 years.

As far as the creaking seat it is something that i am suffering from. Took mine into Skoda on Thurs and they have ordered a new seat base to resolve the issue. (Seat was also rocking slightly).

I've had a drivers side door arm rest, lol

I'm also surffering from a creaking drivers seat - this seems to be a common problem? I think i might take it in under warranty to sort it out.

Not a Fabia , but had the Seat base and Back replaced under warranty on the Octy because of the creaking , this was after 2 years . and no questions or probles when they inspected to carry out the work .

No, the flaking is quite distinctive around the bumper seam and it's literally where the paint is separating from the bumper.
