Climate control packed up

Featured Replies

My climate control is playing up. Have had it regassed but there are two faault codes coming up. One is 01274air flow flap motor on open circuit and the second which seems to be the real problem is 00818 outlet temperature sensor on open circuit

Can anyone tell me what and where the outlet temperature sensor is located?

Cheers

Both of those are a problem, without the flap motor your A/C cannot switch between the airconditioned air and hot air thats passed over the heater matrix. it could be your motor is stuck in the wrong position, so no cool air is getting into the cabin.

My problem seems to be the ECU is not triggering the electromagnetic clutch on the aircon pump to engage, so the pump isn't running and I presumed it would be the temp sender fault rather than the flap fault causing this as the computer doesn't realise that the car temperature

Did you get anywhere with this, Rich?

There is no clutch for the compressor on the Fabia - the compressor is constantly driven off the belt.

Flap motor faults and evaporator temperature sensor faults are relatively common on the Fabia. I don't know if the evap temp sensor is known as "outlet temperature sensor" on VAGCOM, but if so, there's plenty on here regarding how to fix it (including a sticky with pics!) Flap motor, I'm not so sure about...

I think the evaporator temp sensor is different to the outlet one. In fact, I think Jason (devonutopia) may have had the outlet temp sensor fault on his?

Hmm, I seem to remember he posted exactly that when I originally put up the evap temp sensor pics... I wonder where it is then? Is it the one behind the heater / fan dials? I'd've thought that would be called something like "cabin temp sensor"...?

I rest my flap motors on my octy and all is good up to now. maybe a reset will do the trick.
