Pulse per revolution

Featured Replies

Does anyone know what the pulse-per-revolution should be set to on an MFD G fitted to an Octavia vRS Mk1? I've searched without success.

Thanks :o

Ooh, deja vu ;)

Let me dig it up again...

Thanks :D

Thanks Q, I'm actually looking for the pulse per revolution rather than the wheel circumference, though. It's asking for both :(

Have you not used gala? Pulse per revolution for ABS is 8 iirc

I can find out mine tonight if it is still not working by then. Don't forget that it 'learns' the more you drive it.

I don't know if I'm honest! I'm not entirely sure what I'm doing. I plugged the unit in with the plug and play harness and tested the GALA function by setting the gala control to maximum and driving down a short section of dual carriageway - the volume did increase so the wire must be connected correctly. I have not changed any settings with vag com (as advised on Octavia-vRS.com) because I don't have access to it. When driving along the movement of the little arrow (my position marker) on the map is not completely smooth, it moves along in little notches which I am not sure is right having read things on here.

I set the wheel size to the correct number (1930 IIRC) and drove 30 miles and it had changed itself to 2000+ (I can't remember the exact figure).

Any ideas?

The arrow doesn't move completely smooth. If it makes big jumps, GALA would have not been working. If it gives your position reasonably accurate, then it must be working :)

You don't need to recode with VAGCOM afaik.

The position is accurate and the movement is in small consistent jumps so it sounds like it is working after all!

Thanks for putting my mind at rest :)

Off to buy the correct torx driver/LED's later so I can start surgery :D

Thanks again.
