Fabia High Brake Light

Featured Replies

Morning All,

I used my vagcom cable for the first time last night, found one fault, the temp sensor so its all working. I foolishly ran the tool with just the ignition on but not started so managed to run enough juice out of the battery so it wouldn't start - jumped it off my vRS and now ok though.

However, since using it, I now have six of the small LED type lights on the high middle brake light permanently lit, the three at the left and three at the right.

Has anyone ever had this issue before? I would doubt that vagcom has changed this, and am wondering if maybe its a symptom of the battery going mostly flat?

The car is a 2001 Y reg Fabia Comfort, 1.4MPi 8v engine.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Mike

I've seen that on Golfs mostly - always wondered what it was. Can't help I'm afraid, just curious too! :o

Cheers ap0gee, I just saw your temp sensor change pdf - nice one, I'll be changing that tomorrow night!

Since you car doesn't control those LEDs individually, I can't see you VAG-COM could have anything to do with this problem.

Thanks Uwe, I didn't see how it could have done either, but thought I'd post to see if anyone knew.

I would probably think its a bit of a quirk from the battery being almost drained, your marvellous software has shown up the battery low voltage (01598 - Drive Battery Voltage) so it needs changing, I would say that upon disconnection and reconnection the problem will hopefully disappear.
