New @ BRISKODA and new Octavia

Featured Replies

Hi guys!

I hope you don't mind a Swede posting here, but I recently found this forum in a link from a Swedish Skoda forum.

I'm an Octavia owner since March 2000 (Octavia SLXi), and got a new Octavia 2.0 TDI DSG Elegance estate two weeks ago (kept the old one for my wife and oldest son ;) ).

There seem to be some differences in the models we have in Sweden compared to the UK, but I've already found lots of useful information here anyway.

Here's my new car anyway - nothing special, but I like it alot: original.jpg

I don't think we have many Swedes here , though plenty of other Europeans and those from further afield.

You are most welcome here anyway , and it's a nice looking car you've bought. The wheels they have on your Elegance are much nicer than the six spoke ones we have here in the UK.

I just had a look round the Sweedish Skoda website and while I can't understand much of your language other than "Ikea" they do seem to have a few differences in what's on sale - no "classic" trim levels for a start.

hi,

Nice car. Not seen those wheels in the UK before. I guess they must be specific to some EU countries like yours.

Wonder what differences you have spec wise?

Hi and welcome, that is a lovely looking car you have.

With english as good as yours, your are more than welcome here (makes a change from the txt speak or keyboard failures seen on some forums  )

Nice artistic photo as well.

Here's another shot from another angle at same place (Uppsala Castle):

Your headlamps are different to the UK design, no projector lens

And here's my old Octavia SLXi (still going strong) in Oban, waiting for the ferry:

afe - A wonderful set of pictures. I hope I am just as pleased as you when my car (same spec) arrives in 8 weeks, though with UK spec wheels. I must say that I prefer the look of the car better with your wheels.

VRS195 - Most impressed by your vision in spotting that it would make an advert and also in the execution of same.

Derek but still Exhausted

welcome,nice car.

VRS195 - you have to remake the ad - I've edited out the ugly lamppost behind the car now :)

Edit: for some reason the edited version doesn't show up here yet - I suppose there's some caching on the forum server. The new image can be found here

Edit: and now it's updated - oh well :)

To force a full browser refresh of cache you can press CTRL+F5 buttons.

Or if you are using IE7 click on:

"Tools" menu

select "Internet Options"

on the "General" tab, under "Browsing History" section

click on "Settings"

check you want IE to check for newer versions of stored pages "Every time I visit the web page"

I tried that, but for some reason direct links to images seem so be cached at pbase - so it didn't help

Since it's now showing the update image, the problem is solved anyway :)

it is done

Nice :)

I have to send this to my Skoda dealer - maybe I could pursuade them to hire me to shoot their new cars, instead of the lousy showroom photos they use now :)
