Shall i have a go.?????

Featured Replies

hi guys im thinking about buying a porta cable and having a go at getting the swirl marks out of my 5 year old black vrs,im a bit unsure as i dont want to damge the paint,it really does my head in when i harly wax the car and i see all the marks where the past owners have killed the paintwork by putting in a car wash.

So i might have a go myself is it worth the money and can i bring the paint back to how it was years ago or is the car too old. Also what products should i use if i get the porta?

unless you plan to do it anually you'd be better off getting someone to do it for you.

PC and pads will be about

I know what you mean guys but i thought if i had the kit i could do it more often will the wax not seal it? also what a esp.

If it's detailed properly, and kept on top of, it really shouldn't need doing again.

I presume you mean lsp, which is last stage protection, i.e. a sealant over the wax which is over the polish.

Try www.detailingworld for probably the best advice, and pictures of enthusiasts cars.

But get your credit card ready, and buy a bigger shed.

nothing is easy:O

Avoid detailing world for now and go read the guides here

Polished Bliss - Car Care Advice

This might stop you getting sucked in for now anyway

It's worth getting a porter cable if you plan to do detailing as a serious hobby.

As an enthusiast I probably detail 1 or 2 cars a month, so it's worth the expense. Plus I can't think of a better way to spend a weekend :)

I've noticed that one of the site sponsors over on detailing world (Clean Your Car - car care products UK) is about to start selling something similar to the PC but specially developed for the UK market (ie 240V)

Reviews are a little mixed at the moment, but it seems like it may be OK for a hobby detailer if not for the commercial valeters.

Price is expected to be around
