Fabia VRs Virgin

Featured Replies

Hi

Ive just ordered a a new Fabia VRs Special Edition model, arrives week after next

Im moving from vw having had golf gtis for the past 10 years, current car is a mk3 16v gti which was great when i was commuting 5 miles up the road but im now driving 70 miles a day to work and its killing me. not only the fuel bills ( currently 370 per month , but having to work that 16v lump to the readline alll the time to make progress, I get to the end of the week and am knackered(must be age)

Ive fancied the VRs fabia since it came out, a freind of mine who is a dealer had one in that had been chipped to 170 bhp and had all the mods, 312 mm disks jabba sport roll bar eibach spings the works.

Simply astonishing the best car ive ever driven all round, and id have bought it except the insurance company werent having it at a reaonable price. Tried a standard one and was still very impressed.

I tried everything else on the market, ford fiesta zetec s tdci, clio 106 deisel, peugot 110 deisel, toyota yaris etc all are more expensive than the se vrs and the performance of the vr is simply in a different league.

Of course I looked at vw frankly they were the worst dealers i dealt with out of all of them, and basically tried to sell me a polo with the same spec for about 2000 more and 500 less on the part exchange and tried to convince me i was getting a good deal( after me telling them about the deal on the vrs so they could try and match it). Very disapointing, Im afraid vw are now trading on their badge alone these days, skoda re the new peoples car in my view and filed the gap vw left some years ago. pity!

Although I still have an orginal mk1 and 2 golf gti on classic policies to remind me of their heydey. The mk1 is still an amaizing little machine even after 30 years but I guess id better not talk too much vw on here

Farmer skoda in leicester near where I work sold it to me ,they had 2 second hand ones in at 10,500 ish but Id seen the SE model on the road and websites and knew Id always wished id had that one so ive bought a new car for the first time ever!

Cant wait , I know about the stutter problem, just hope its not as bad as they say, ill just have to cross that bridge if and when I come to it.

Anyway enough from me, looking forward to getting my new car and talking to you again, ill let people know how i get on

best bit is my sister in laws reaction, "youve bought a what?" "but its a skoda!"

YEP!

Cheers

Chris

Welcome to Briskoda

hi and welcome to briskoda...

First thing you need to do is take your sister in law out in it - then she too will be a Skoda convert!

Welcome :wavey:

After a 2 minute drive in the new car then the answer to your sis in law is ' Yes it is a skoda ' :D said with a large smile.
