Head Light Bulb Change

Featured Replies

Whats the easiest way to change the headlight bulb on the passenger side of my VRS? It's a little bit tight behind the battery! Is it a light out job?

Thanks

Whip out the battery...thats what I do when I need to change a bulb on the passenger side.

When I did mine, you can just get away with removing the plastic battery surround, but it will depend how big your hands are!

Battery is easy enough to remove otherwise (just need to undo the single nut at the front to undo the clamp) :D

I was faced with the problem of fitting HID lamps to the dip section of the heads. And had to remove the plastic covers to make a 20mm holes in the back of both

plastic covers.. That was difficult due to the spring that holds the offside cover on.

But having done it once for both bulbs and the nearside, (passenger side) although tight is do-able although has got the battery in its way. Is quite easy the second time when I decided to fit higher performance head light bulbs. I would advise you just approach the change without removing the headlights, the time involved alone would put me off.

How exactly DO you remove the plastic battery surround? Can't quite work out what unclips from where and the Haynes manual is predictably vague and unhelpful. Can it be done without disconnecting the battery?

From what I remember, you basically take off the plastic lid and then the front unclips. No need to disconnect the battery.... :D
