Only Hot or Cold, no in between?? Plus it has a mind of its own??

Featured Replies

Hi,

Picked up my 53 plate VRS a couple of weeks ago. Been on my hols in it this week. The heater control has always been on cold since I got it. As the weather was a little cold I moved the control away from the coldest setting slightly, but only to the next step, not even halfway, I was shocked when it started chucking out really hot air, I was only expecting warm. Then when I put it back to cold it stayed boiling hot??

Anyone know of an issue where they can only get hot or cold, no in between? Also with it not going back to cold when the dial is on cold?

Going to book it in with Skoda as I have warranty on the car.

Thanks

I would say it is either a defective of jammed flap motor.

Got it booked in at dealer for them to sort it out. Should I put the factory air filter back in and remove the pipercross before I take it in?

Might be a good idea, and less for them to complain about if it is a warranty issue

My Fabia vRs does this.

When the air con is on say 20, you can be driving along and the air will turn red hot, long enough that I need to open the window, then all of a sudden it will turn cold again.

May take it in to the dealers....

Skoda have found the problem, I need a recirculation motor and hot/cold motor which are now on order.

Yes that'll be what are commonly known as the flap motors.

similar thing with mine (non air con) gague varied from anywhere between cold and middle even after 40 mile runs, only blew out either hot or cold air, was eentually replaced thermost after Rayrigg messed about twice with sensors. Luckily car was under extra awarranty i purchased but bit of advice never ever go to Rayrigg group. decent prices but mechanics have no idea.

My Fabia has hot flushes as well.

I think it is cute.

Funnily enough mine has the same problem also. I turn off the fan motor for a few seconds and that seems to solve the problem, bit annoying though
