Friday is the day....

Featured Replies

Just got word that my vRS TDi has arrived at the dealer.

It will be PDI'd on Thursday, so I should take delivery on Friday :D

I can't wait!

I'll post some piccies once I've got it.

Bagpuss.

Good luck what colour and spec is it ?

ETA 25th-30th June for mine.

PS - if you are used to the smooth self-opening Superb bonnet, make sure you don't hurt yourself checking the oil or water, that big metal bonnet on the Octavia is very heavy ;)

Great choice......cant guess what you will be doing all day friday???:D;)

Strangely, I won't be able to drive it much on Friday, but I am going down to Cornwall on Saturday for the Royal Cornwall Show, so that should give it a bit of a run.

As for spec., it's a race blue (yes, another one) TDi Estate, with:

Xenons

Dual zone, rear electric windows, jumbo box

Maxidot

Light assist, rain sensitive wipers, auto-dim mirror

Curtain airbags

Active headrests

Sunset glass

Heated front seats

Cruise control

Rear parking sensors

It's not quite up to the spec. of the Superb, but about as close as I can get. I almost went for an L+K because of the relatively poor vRS options list, but just preferred the more sporty drive of the vRS.

As for the bonnet strut, then I'll admit I nearly removed several fingers the first time I opened the bonnet on the Octy. I just expected the gas strut to be there, and it wasn't. I'd almost be tempted to fit one, if this wasn't a company car.

Almost the same as mine:

vRS PD170 - COMBI - Black Pearl - 18" Zeniths - Rear Park - Htd Sts - Cruise - S/R - Maxidot - Sunset - Xenons - Curtains (!) - VarBoot - 2Zone - Dim - Rain - Tunnel - Rear E/W - Jumbo

Except colour and I didn't tick the box for (

You have good taste when it comes to options :D

Enjoy the car when it arrives

It's been along wait for you to get what you wanted.

Hope Friday goes well for you and have fun Saturday.

Good luck. I had to wait over a month for the DVLA to sort out the plate transfer...

Nice collection off options. hope everything goes well for you on friday..

bagpuss ;- when did u place the order for the vrs, and how lond has it taken,

I placed my order for one end of march, and i've been told i'll get the car mid june.... the only problem is that im getting really antsy and i want the car like testerday.

@VRS195 - As mine is a company purchase, I was not officially entitled to the free upgrades. My original order didn't have the 18's on it, as I didn't feel they were worth paying extra for (adds to the P11D value, as well). Instead, I opted to have Xenons. When I found out about the free upgrades, I complained to the lease company, and they eventually got Skoda to agree to give me the dualzone climate option for free.

@rickyt - I ordered mine on the 23rd March, so it's taken exactly 11 weeks from order to delivery. I've actually been waiting for mine since the beginning of February, as I wasted nearly 6 weeks trying to get my local dealer to transfer a car to the lease companies preferred dealer.

@mdk1 - Thanks, it has been a long wait, but I'm sure it will be worth it. I'm just trying to work out how to fit my Pioneer satnav, which I'm sure will be a project for next week.

At least you got something out of them - happy motoring .. and roll on Friday :D

I've got the car, and it's everything I was hoping it would be.

Would post some piccies, but my digital camera seems to be on the fritz. Still, it's a good excuse to go and buy a new one ;-)

Glad it lived up to your expectations.

glad you're enjoying it, any pics today... ?

No pics today, as I've been to the Royal Cornwall Show, and haven't had chance to get a new digital camera. Still, the car is now halfway to being run in.

Might get around to it tomorrow, though.

It might not be "safe" to take the car past 3/4 max rpm, but I think it is "safe" to take a photo of it before the running-in period is out ;)

Finally got around to taking some piccies, so here they are.

The car isn't terribly clean, as it's been raining quite a bit here. Still, I reckon it looks pretty good!

Note the heated seat controls in the centre console closeup, which proves it can be done, despite what my local dealer is still telling his customers........ :(

It looks like you ticked quite a few of the option boxes :D

Is that a Maxidot? :D

And I notice you went for the "Gunmetal" alloy option ;)

gunmetal alloys?

Looks very nice indeed - similar to what I have on order for September :D

lee

very nice mate, thanks for putting up some pics :)

gunmetal alloys?

"IF ONLY MY WIFE WAS THIS DIRTY" etc etc

Looks very nice indeed
