Mintex pads (Fabia vRS) part number?

Featured Replies

Can anyone tell me what the part number of the Mintex Xtreme 1144 pads is for standard fitment 288mm discs and using the standard calipers?

The guy that's trying to source the parts for me is really struggling to find the right ones.

I know some people on here have used them.

Ahh, I think Decron might know - I spoke to someone at our last track day at Hullavington and I think it was him who mentioned the Mintex extreme working very well, even during abusive track sessions.

I'm keen to know too, as they're far cheaper than Ferodo DS2500 (which are awesome, but a bit pricey).

Dunno if you can get the mintex in 4-pot brembo GT caliper sizes though (on 323mm disc).

Hi

I had a bit of trouble , but hey

MDB2294X is the part number

Certainly everything I've read on here about the Mintex Xtreme seems to be favourable. But most people, if not all, seem to be using their pads with the upgraded 312mm diameter brakes. I've opted to keep with the standard size, but that isn't proving to be the easiest option!

The guy who's fitting them for me ordered a set of the Mintex pads from GSF, but they gave him the wrong ones - useful! GSF don't seem to have any evidence of another Mintex option for the vRS; they only have Pagid ones.

However, I've just ordered a pair of Mintex Xtremes from Kevin at JabbaSport who had a look at the ones they have while I was on the phone. From the way he described them they sound correct - they're certainly different to the ones GSF supplied, so hopefully they'll be right!

Sarah,

Thank you very much. Sorry I've already spoken to JabbaSport. Let's hope they are as thorough as you. I'm sure I'm not the only one needing this info though, so now it's here I'm sure others will benefit.

I wonder why these pads are so hard to find - everyone else I tried either found the same ones as GSF or said Mintex simply didn't do any pads for the vRS!

I would have thought if they're 288mm discs the pads will be interchangeable with Mk IV Golf - could be wrong though.

Different caliper design.

Unfortunately not. I think it was Golf ones that GSF gave us. I don't know why the Fabia vRS ones should be different, but it would appear that they are!

Mmmm

That was the problem I had with another one , but definately the ones I have quoted

My coat is on and I have left the building ... :o

Yeah, they are brilliant although mine are 312's.

it depends if you have a pad wear sensor too. but i just get the ones with the sensor and then cut it off the back of the pad

Does anyone know what the part number is for the boxed product ie discs and pads?
