Dragon box owners

Featured Replies

Not sure you can back that up fella. We did a number of benchmark tests on my Furby with Dragon box and the ultimate made quite a significant difference, both on performance & smoke. Ambient temp was pretty much identical & the car was not serviced or modified in between the runs.

You've got to run it for a good couple of tankfuls to see any change though...

So your now significantly poorer?

Used it all in various cars for years and if you can honestly say you get 5ppl difference out of that fuel then you will be the first

There are at least 5 threads from the last year debating the whole BP Ultimate thing and how a lot of diesel all comes from the same place. I'll easily stand by this statement - For the money it's crap.

Shell do Extra which is better and it's the same price as normal. Ultimate is just an overpriced product.

For x% difference in cost it probably doesn't make x% difference in power but that's not really the point I was making.

It may be no better than other premium fuels but I stated neither that it was worth the cash or that it was better than any other premium diesel, I merely refuted your claim that it did nothing.

Where did I say it did nothing? In my experiance (8 different diesel cars and over 750000 miles in the last 10 years) it does nothing more than make you feel better about yourself :D

To be honest if it works for you then I suppose its a good thing, it's just I think as people use forum to make choices they should know that it is not a silver bullet and in most cases will do nothing except empty your wallet. The quality of diesel is variable from pump to pump. Too many variables.

My pal says that diesel is like decent ale - you have to look after it properly and keep it well.

He is not wrong although Diesel can be a lot more forgiving than petrol in terms of storage. If kept properly it will keep indefinately

Thanks to everyone who offerd advice

Decided to put a new air filter in today(on inspection the old one was absolutely rotten)

the car seems a tad smoother and the smoke seems to of abated a bit

probably get a green filter when the current filter needs replacing

Okeh , were the instructions i sent you ok ?

Okeh , were the instructions i sent you ok ?

yeah they seem pretty straight forward

but im waiting until i see my mate who is a mechanic before i start fiddling around with the box:rolleyes:

Thanks again for the instructions

Anyone know much about the differences between the 3 fuel map options on the Dragon boxes when you order them?

Gives you the option of Economy, Power & Economy or Power.

Mr Hoot will doctor the box to give either better economy, more power or a lesser mix of both. They come set to both as a default.
