A few questions regarding Alloy Wheel Sizes and Warrenty!

Featured Replies

Greetings people.

Would just like to start by saying sorry if a thread like this already exists, I did use the search but couldnt really find anything relivent. I know its probably a fairly common set of questions.

I'd like to procure a new set of Alloy Wheels for 07 Plate Fabia vRS. I am in-particular looking at getting some OZ Racing Pallidios. (The ones sported on the Lamborghini Gallardo). I was trying to focus on a set of 18"s.

My first question is what profile of tyre would I need to keep the same rolling circumference? In respect to keeping the speedo accurate? Is it even possible to do so on a set of 18"? Or would I need to go down to 17's?

Secondly where to I stand with the Skoda Warrenty on Aftermarket Alloys? I mean I know this is a very silly question as I have already had my car breathed on my JabbaSport in the form of a custom remap; and I know I probably wouldnt fair too well in respect to that.

Thanks very much in advance for your help. I hope this all makes sense.

:)

regarding tyre size, 18's usually run on 215/35 x 18...17's 215/40 x 17.

there are a few people on here with 18's but the norm is 17...

i just put 17's on and phoned up my skoda dealer, he wasn't fussed about the wheels regarding warrenty, but all dealers are different...

oh and what did your dealer say about a remap!

The dealer doesnt know about the remap, only my insurance company do. But from what I have digested on here from other people its really hit and miss with remaps as far as dealers are concerned; for instance some dealers will refuse a claim on anything, whilst others are more tolerable.

Touch wood the old vRS won't give me too much jip. But thanks very much for the tyre sizes stu-wrc. Very much appricated.
