I think this may be contributing, but a lot of the problem will be young'uns with little driving experience being able to afford them because of their relatively low insurance grouping and getting into a mess with not being able to handle them (especially if they chip them!)....

thats wrong for me. im looking to get a vrs soon hopefully start of november. ill be 19 then and the insurance qoutes i get for provisional license are nearly

Trouble is , a lot of people your age don't think like that at all.

They see a load more power for a couple of hundred quid , and don't think they will be caught out

sadly i agree. i know people who just want a car that goes fast. then they go and wreck them. no control.
