Cleaning Basics

Wheels..............Virasol diluted about 8:1, sprayed on and left for a while, then attacked with a soft brush. I use a megs wheel brush, the long yellow cone shaped one, bent like a banana to do the backs of the spokes, and a short bristled brush for the fronts. I protect with poorboys wheel wax, which smells like banana sweets! Again, dust pretty much rinses off!

Either way, there is loads of good stuff out there, but avoid strongly acidic or alkali cleaners (e.g. wonder wheels) and don't use a harsh or abrasive brush/scourer. If it says "avoid contact with painted surfaces" then stear well clear.

On a semi related topic, the wife clayed the chrome grill and clear lenses on her truck today - fantastic job. All bugs gone and looks like it just rolled out of the showroom!

A good job well done there mate. I use car plan alloy wheel cleaner. Brush on and watch the muck come off!! Apply to a cold wheel though and I find it best to wash the wheel srtaight away. See my thread for wheel close ups. :P :D:thumbup: :P
