Seaside feeler

Featured Replies

What does everyone think about a seaside meet up in august, something liek hayling island or IOW?

Hi, I organised a meet on the IOW back in January. I think it's the 2nd or 3rd one we've had now. I keep telling everyone to come over here in the summer and not when it's freezing cold, but will they listen? :D

If you manage to get one off the ground let me know if you need a hand

ill need a big hand, ie. someone sort it out and take the credit, just hinting thats what we need and im new and dont know how to organise such a thing

Thanks Stu :D but, you didn't turn up to the last one did you?;)

Take a look in the meets section at how other people have gone about organising one and put a feeler thread up on where and when to get some interest. when it feels like it's a goer then you can put up a new thread with all the details of the date, place and time with people adding their names. :)

pixi ive only been here a month so im still very new and learning ;-)

Well, sounds like fun to me :D

Can/are you coming to the Newbury meet on 6th July? If you can make it along I would be happy to help you with your idea and perhaps develop it into an organised meet.

I like the idea of Hayling Island as a location or maybe Southsea has potential but a meet including a pre defined route for a jolly jaunt cullminating in a pub lunch or something similar.

yeah i should be attending newbury. reason i thought hayling is we can take over one of the car parks ;-)

haha finally a meet where i dont have to drive like a billion miles to get there :D

There should be a seaside stop off on the New Forest meet if I get my route right.

As for Hayling island, I guess it's ok but there are nicer beaches just a little bit along.

As for a summer IOW meet pixi, that's all ok except for the bend over ferry prices at this time. :D

not if you know where to go..... there are parts where many holiday makers never venture:rolleyes: ....

I know where you mean Tom, but I was spoilt by the bit's of bournemouth and the surrounding areas that the tourists don't know about ;)

I'd be happy with any bit of beach so long as the sun is shining...what do you make of our chances???

Any takers at 25:1 :D

Brighton anyone :):D

You read my thoughts, Brighton is excellent apart from it doesn't like cars :(

Monkhaiman, there are loads of special offers on ferries all year that I could let you guys know about. But I'm happy to be the minority that has to take the ferry, heck! one of you guys could even pick me up :D

any better ideas teflon, as you live down there, im just thinking of the sandbanks and a huge car park with a pub on the beach.

that particular carpark is terrible!!! gravel, huge potholes(i mean massive!!) i cracked my sump down there once! pub is nice tho. and the sands dunes can be really nice at this time of year.

Sounds like the car park has got worse in the past couple of years then?!?!

Anywhere better then or is all of hayling ending up the same?

it's rapidly becoming a housing estate.. far different to the way i remember it when i was a nipper
