Had reason to buy a new air box for my 2005 VRS (the housing that holds the air filter) and they sent along an air box for a >2006 VRS - it would not fit my car. Noted that the diameter of the airbox outlet hose has decreased (not the intake hose, but the hose that holds the MAF sensor etc), and the internal trumpet which is located inside the cover of the airbox has decreased in size quite a lot. Although far from being expert here, it would seems that they have reduced airflow considerably in the later VRS in order to comply with emission regulations.

I would say it's more likely they've sent you a PD100 one.
